Paul Procter at Milngavie Fly Dressers

Paul came to the Milngavie Fly Dressers last evening and gave a demo.  Always a delight to watch him tie and font of knowledge about all things trout fishing. How he keeps being original and writing for  trout fishing mags I will never know.  I asked the question and the answer was simple “go fishing as often as you can”.  Sadly we had planned to go fishing on the 1st April but thought better of it torrential rain over the last 24 hours had made it impossible.  Never mind maybe next time.

You can see them!

The flies were great “pheasantless pheasant tail nymph, CDC olives with a bit of support from a hackle, foam beetle with sight indicator,  buzzer (midge on rivers) with foam suspender, modified Fraser nymph with partridge legs and thin skin thorax cover, foam winged emerger with shuck, and a couple of spiders, waterhen bloa and stewart’s black spider. Nothing to complicated, simple to make and just asking to be taken fishing!
